MOROCCAN KINGDOM

    The Moroccan  kingdom is situated on the north-west extreme of Africa. It is lined by the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean. It is very near to  Europe  that it is separated only by the Gibraltar strait (14 Km).

AREA AND POPULATION

    Morocco has an area of 10850 Km² with a  population over than 27 million of residents.

CLIMATE

   The country has a Mediterranean zone on the north and subtropical one on the south. Because it s near to the sea and mountains, Morocco has a temperate climate (RIF, ATLAS)

LANGUAGES

   The official language is the Arabic. There is also Berber dialects that are spoken in mountainous zones. Moreover, French is the most used as a strange language.  Then come the English and Spanish languages.

CURRENCY

    The national currency is Dirham (Dh).

HOUR

   Morocco is situated on the time zone of Greenwich and see to G.M.T. hour.

ELECTRICITY

    Morocco has at one's disposal of many voltages (110-125-220) following cities's regions and  quarters.

HIGHWAY NETWORK

    Motorways connect Casablanca and Rabat, Fez and Mekhnes, Kenitra and Larache. Morocco has at one's disposal of a highway network of 61000 Km:

  • Motorways 700Km;
  • Principal ways 11750Km;
  • Secondary ways 10000Km which 6500Km covered;
  • Tertiary ways 39000Km which 13000Km covered.

RAILWAY CONNECTION NETWORK

Morocco has at one's disposal of 1900 Km of skilled routes. Principal lines:
        Rabat-Casablanca,
        Casablanca-Mèkhnes Fez Oujda,
        Casablanca-Marrakech,
        Tangier, Casablanca Oued Zem,
        Casablanca-El Jadida.

 INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS

    Casablanca (Anfa and Mohamed V), Rabat-Salé, Tangier, Tétouan, Oujda, Fez, Al-Hoceima, Marrakech, Agadir, Ouarzazate, Laayoune. A railway shuttle connects Mohamed V airport, Casablanca et Rabat.
